How to generate a Trello Key and Token?
In order to migrate from/to Trello, you need to generate a Key and a Token. These two values are needed to authenticate to your Trello environment and to read data from it. You can follow the steps below to generate the App Key and Token from your Trello subscription.
- Login to your Trello subscription and then open this link: https://trello.com/app-key/
- Save the key that is displayed at the top of the page. (If no key is displayed, please skip to the second paragraph of this article).
- Click on Generate a Token. This will open a new page.
- Scroll all the way down abd click on Allow. This will open a new page with your Token.
- Save your token, and you’re all set!
Generating a Key and Token with Trello Power-Ups
If you are not able to see a Trello Key, you can generate a Power-Up application to generate your Token. Follow the steps below:
- Log in to Trello and go to this link: https://trello.com/power-ups/admin/
- Click on New in the upper right corner to create a new Power-Up:
3. Provide the necessary information and then hit Create.
- Give your Power-Up a name.
- Choose the Workspace you want to migrate.
- You can skip the Iframe URL. Leave this field empty.
- Provide your email and name in the Author field.
4. You can now generate the API key by clicking on “Generate a new API key”.
5. Copy the displayed key and paste it into the App Key field in Altosio.
6. You can now generate a Token by clicking Token. The generated Token should be copied in the Token field in your Altosio connector.
